
Course Brief
CSST Part 1 and Part 2 have passed the Approval process by The British Psychological Society (BPS) according to the BPS’ 5 quality criteria.
Certificate in Single-Session Therapy (CSST) Part 2 is a Practice Experiential Part of the course.
Although you can book Part 1 and Part 2 together, all students gain access to CSST Part 2 only upon their successful completion of CSST Part 1 and passing the Part 1 online exam with 80% or over pass mark.
IMPORTANT: To secure a place on CSST Part 1 and Part 2 applicants MUST:
- Book a course place AND
- Submit a completed application form downloadable from HERE (PDF) and email it to info@sds-seminars.com.
No place is secured until BOTH are received AND confirmation of your acceptance on the course is sent to you by SDS Seminars Ltd. A Confirmation Letter that confirms your payment is NOT a letter of acceptance.

Pair practice prior to the course:

At the end of CSST1 students are to pair with a partner from the group or outside the group, should such need arise, for practice that should consist of a MINIMUM of 4 private “practices” by video conferencing: two as a “therapist” and two as a “client”.

A co-therapy model is to be used whereby a real personal issue is used in all practices. These should cover at least 30 mins EACH WAY ROUND for each practice, but not more than 50 min.

Each practice should be assessed by both parties and documented on the Self-Assessment Form, provided to the students prior to CSST2 commencement. These forms will be submitted as the evidence of practice prior to the Practice Experiential of CSST2 - make a scan/photo of the completed forms and send them to [info@sds-seminars.com] clearly marked with your name and the course title/dates.
Email/Online support prior to the Practice Experiential dates:
- Online support by Professor Dryden will be provided regarding any issues that arise. This can be used by all students up to two times prior to CSST Part 2 Practice Experiential dates.
Practice demonstrations observed by other students with feedback and assessment by Professor Dryden during the course (CSST Part 2):

Prior to the CSST Part 2 Practice Experiential all members of the CSST2 cohort will be allocated a partner for the Practice Experiential and a time slot.

You will not be paired with any partner you’ve practised with prior to the course.

Time slots will be allocated randomly.

You will lead a Single-Session (appox. 30 min) with a real personal issue which will be observed by Professor Dryden and other cohort members.

At the end of the session Professor Dryden will give you a verbal feedback and a written feedback on the Student Assessment Form.

CSST Part 2 completion requires the student to be “signed off” by Professor Dryden regarding their competency in the demonstration.

In instances where such “signing off” cannot occur the student can access free of charge one subsequent Practice Experiential to repeat their demonstration for signing off.”

Association of Single-Session Therapists (ASST) & SST Accreditation
Association of Single-Session Therapists (ASST)
A new Association of Single-Session Therapists has been established by Professor Windy Dryden. Details available directly from Professor Dryden.
SST Accreditation
SST is assessed and conferred by ASST.
Requirements
- Completion of CSST Part 1
- Completion of CSST Part 2
- Supervision of clients commences after CSST Part 1 and CSST Part 2 have been completed. 25 SST sessions with clients. 12 of those sessions should be supervised in some form with W.D. (Group or Individual), 6 of the SST sessions should be supervised by individual supervision by WD. Supervision every 4 weeks (1 month).
- An assessed session recording and transcript will be required as part of the Accreditation application. The applicant will be required to provide a written commentary of the session as part of the transcript. Written permission will be required from the client
Reaccreditation: Every 3 years with evidence of completed CPD in the form of training and regular monthly supervision
Supervision costs: £ 150 per hour individual supervision, £75 per person for group supervision (2 hours up to 4 supervisees)
