Julia is a qualified medical doctor with extensive clinical, managerial and university teaching experience. She has worked overseas, in the NHS and privately. At present she trains within the NHS, Social Services & the Independent Sector. A qualified gastroenterologist, Julia has written extensively in the field. Her current interests lie in evidence based improvements to health and quality of life through psychological & behavioural change. She has particular experience and knowledge of the issues around eating and weight problems. As a presenter Julia is particularly praised for her ability to make the most complex topics accessible, interesting, practical and lively.
Julia is a co-founder of The Skills Development Service Media LLP and is particularly interested in producing teaching materials in non-traditional formats — DVD, CD, online training. To date she is the producer of over a dozen training DVDs, which have received enthusiastic journal reviews.
Julia was a driving force behind SDS Free Thursdays, that started during the first lockdown of 2020 Covid pandemic. Since then Julia has been a regular host of these extremely popular events that bring in a worldwide audience of healthcare professionals.
Julia's passion for literature led her to becoming an author of three books, with her latest one A Mole Like No Other reaching the Amazon Bestseller spot in 6 categories and remaining at #1 for over 12 weeks.
