Julia is a medical doctor and a PhD, with clinical, managerial and university teaching experience. She has worked overseas, in the NHS and privately. A qualified gastroenterologist, Julia has written extensively in the field and worked as a University Senior Lecturer for many years.
Additionally to being a medic, Julia has completed the BPS Approved Diploma Training with the National Centre for Eating Disorders, Master Practitioner Diploma in CBT, and is a fully qualified teacher of MBCT (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy) with The Oxford Mindfulness Foundation.
Julia is a co-director of SDS Seminars Ltd, and a co-founder of The Skills Development Service Media LLP and is particularly interested in producing teaching materials for distance training. Julia was a driving force behind SDS Free Thursdays, that started during the first lockdown of 2020 Covid pandemic. Since then Julia has been a regular host of these extremely popular events that bring in a worldwide audience of healthcare professionals.
As a presenter Julia is particularly praised for her ability to make the most complex topics accessible, interesting, practical and lively.
Julia's passion for literature led her to becoming an author of three books, with her latest one A Mole Like No Other reaching the Amazon Bestseller spot in 6 categories and remaining at #1 for over 12 weeks.
