Course Brief
Complex Trauma in the form of multiple and/or ongoing trauma is a common experience for clients, but often represents a challenge for the therapists. This practical brand new two-part Masterclass, presented by Paul Grantham, will cover issues of applying simple and effective solution-focused therapeutic (SFT) techniques to complex trauma.
Complex Trauma in the form of multiple and/or ongoing trauma is a common experience for clients. It exists in many forms (both past and current):
- Abuse, neglect or abandonment (as a child or adult)
- Witnessing or experiencing repeated domestic violence
- Forced or manipulated into sex work or County Lines drug dealing
- Torture kidnapping or slavery
Therapists are often aware of its existence but frequently feel ill-equipped and unsure regarding how to work with it.
It is not uncommon for clients to disengage because of lack of trust or distress or for both client and therapist to feel “stuck” and unable to move forward.
Discover how you can integrate Solution Focused Therapy into your practice to provide refreshing new perspectives and insights into your work in this area – even with the most “damaged” or “stuck” clients. From initial engagement, through to discovery and use of your clients’ existing psychological strengths and resources - this masterclass will enhance your skills and understanding toolkit providing new insights, perspectives and techniques.
